Dr. Mufarriq Shah

Dr. Mufarriq Shah received his BSc in optometry and vision sciences from Khyber Medical University and M.Sc. Optics from the University of Peshawar. He obtained his Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Optometry and PhD from the University of Melbourne, Australia. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a fellow of the International Association of Contact Lens Educators (IACLE). He is Vice Chair Person of the International Society for Low Vision Research and Rehabilitation (ISLRR). Dr Mufarriq Shah worked as research fellow in the Centre for Eye Research Australia at Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Melbourne.

Dr Mufarriq Shah is currently working as Associate Professor and head of the Department of Optometry at Pakistan Institute of Community Ophthalmology (PICO) Peshawar, Pakistan. Dr. Mufarriq shah is Deputy Director Research in PICO and Associate editor of Journal of Clinical and Community Ophthalmology. Mufarriq's research interests include low vision, amblyopia, pediatric optometry, diabetic retinopathy and public health, and published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals. He presented his research work in international conferences in Australia, USA, Canada, Malaysia etc. and received various scholarships and awards including:
